[1] There's a discrepancy between the pagination and the page count. the table of contents anticipates a seamless transition between the last page of the table of contents (v), the first page of the "Historical Sketch" which it lists as beginning on page 6, and a one-page introduction which it lists as beginning and ending on page 8.
[2] However, the verso of the Table of Contents is blank [vi / 6], and the introduction is two pages long (8-9). As a result, the first arabic numbered page, page 10, is not actually the 10th page.
